Fight until the bitter end

Day 6

Still tailing miserably in the Fitbit step challenge for the week, I decided I had to start taking it more seriously!

That of course meant, not just 1 walk, but 2 whole walks...

I’m quickly realising it may have been more difficult than expected to make this years blog even a little interesting.

End of day total: 13,451 steps

Day 7

The day started with a 4 hour Zoom training session, which after 2 hours of not moving from my desk I realised meant I could walk around the room to gain some traction in the Fitbit competition, whilst still listening to the presentation! (They didn’t give me thats sports degree for no reason!)

The afternoon was then extra special as I needed a trip in to the office. I actually saw a real person that wasn’t Sam! Yes it was through masks and from a distance but we got in a good half hour shouting catch up across the room :)

The visit also allowed for a walk in some different scenery for my lunch walk.

The evening led to even more excitement and socialising, with a Zoom HIIT workout with a few of the football girls. After some torturous ab work, too many squats to count, an escape attempt from the cat out of the slightly ajar window and a few laughs with the girls it was the end of our 40 minute free session, so of course it was off for another little walk with very achy legs.

End of day total: 15,606 steps

Day 8

It’s finally ‘Friyay’ :D

Without delivering too much information, this morning started with Aunt Flow making her monthly pit stop of terror...

With my insides feeling like that scene from alien, my usual lunchtime walk turned in to nap time with a hot water bottle.

As soon as the working day was done, I was now trailing by a good 15,000 steps in the competition and I knew I had to give it a good last push to at this point, just maintain my dignity.

And I was off, the first 45 minutes where kindly accompanied by my mum, who only actually signed up for 15 minutes while I walked through the dark neighbourhood streets to make sure I didn’t get kidnapped or something.

Feeling good by the end of the call, but still atleast 10,000 steps to go, I adjusted my beanie and settled in for another lap.

Over 2 hours and 8 miles later, I’d reached my self decided target and it was now just a waiting game to see who won the step challenge on those final syncs in the morning.

End of day total: 22,668 steps
